Is ACTS right for you?

ACTS is a unique international school that teaches sexual practice while relating it to concepts of Christianity. Its workshops build up gradually in order for students to slowly get acquainted to this new field. Sexual practices that are taught stem mostly from the spiritual discipline of neo-tantra.

When you train your sexuality, with all its different aspects and shades, you can consciously integrate it into your life. It would not only make you more open, authentic, and creative, but also provide you an opportunity to meet others in new and interesting ways.

If you are passionate about sexuality, accept how it is a fundamental part of who you are, and if you feel how it has the potential to bring you closer to yourself, others and God, then ACTS is right for you.

ACTS was founded by Dutch Christian minister Adam A. Zandman, who is an advanced tantric sexual practitioner. He is passionate to introduce others into this blissful and meaningful combination.

ACTS draws from theology, philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, yoga, Buddhism, and neo-tantra. There is no intent to convert to Christianity, nor is ACTS a fixed community. You come, go, and explore as you wish. Workshops are designed for whoever are interested, both Christians and non-Christians.

We will tell you a bit more here about what we mean by Christianity, sexuality, and tantra. If you are interested in learning about the theoretical foundation of ACTS, scroll down to the end of this page and find a reference to the work of philosopher Emmanuel Levinas.

Christianity

Christianity is all about relationships. Biblical stories understand them as having the utmost divine potential, for better or worse. Heaven and hell manifest themselves in relational ups and downs. Many Biblical texts specifically address sexual relationships as a profound realm where the dynamics of the soul unfold.

Do not expect pious singing or praying in ACTS though. ACTS is no church. Instead, practices stem mostly from modern and spiritual contexts.

We are intrested in the poetry of Biblical texts though. They get read and meditated upon. These texts crack open the world in deep ways. Find out how Biblical perspectives shine a profound light on sexual relationships.

ACTS stands for “Auxiliary Christian Training School”. It does not intend to compete with churches or spiritual schools, but rather to function as a complementary service.

Sexuality

Sexuality is of fundamental importance to human identities and their relationships. It has profound biological, psychological and spiritual aspects to it. It can lead them to the greatest bliss but also to the gravest darkness. It is therefor so important to consciously train sexuality, and understand how it can be used to do good.

Obviously, sexuality is no taboo in ACTS. It will be addressed in its broad variety, from its cute lightness to its kinky darkness. In ACTS, students will find a cool community where they can bring it all in.

The workshops of ACTS build up gradually though, so that students can choose to gently start exploring. Setting and keeping personal boundaries is an important part of the workshops. For students who have their sexuality already out in the open, there are workshops with advanced practices.

Neo-tantra

Tantra is a spiritual tradition from India that deals with transforming energy for spiritual purposes. Neo-tantra is a Western derivative of it, that focusses primarily on techniques to deal with sexual energy.

In ACTS, we teach neo-tantric techniques in order to broaden and deepen ones sex life. It provides great ways to open up and work consciously with sexual energy for self-transcending purposes, instead of denying or diminishing it. ACTS is not into the deities that are associated with Indian tantra. To Christians who worry about how to responsibly work with practices from other spiritual traditions, ACTS will provide some theological sound advice.

There are different branches of neo-tantra. White tantra focusses on harmony, whereas green tantra focusses on sexual polarization. In ACTS, there is room to explore both.

Theoretical Foundation of ACTS: Inspired by Emmanuel Levinas

Our work is deeply rooted in the philosophy of the Jewish thinker Emmanuel Levinas (1906-1995). Levinas saw spirituality not as something abstract or otherworldly, but as something that happens in our encounter with the other. For him, quintessential ethics, spirituality, and meaning arise when we recognize the other person as a unique being who calls us to responsibility and care.

We take this profound idea a step further by applying it to sexual practice. In intimate encounters, we do not merely seek personal pleasure but open ourselves deeply to the presence of the other. This creates a space where spirituality and sensuality merge, allowing for a deeper, more ethical form of connection. Furthermore, it opens an important experiential field for major themes like creation, reconciliation and liberation.

By integrating Levinas’ philosophy into our approach, we move beyond a view of sexuality as purely physical. Instead, we see it as a path to genuine encounter, personal transformation, and even a form of sacred connection.
